MOTHERING SUNDAY
Holy Communion
GREETING:
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
As a mother comforts a child so will I comfort you, says the Lord. Isaiah 66.13
HYMN:
CONFESSION
Let us confess our sins to God our Father
Almighty
and merciful God we have sinned against you, in thought, word and
deed. We have not loved you with all our heart. We have not loved
others as our Saviour Christ loves us. We are truly sorry.
In your
mercy forgive what we have been,
help us to amend what we are, and
direct what we shall be; that we may delight in your will
and walk
in your ways; through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.
The priest says
Through
the Cross of Christ, may God have mercy on you,
pardon you, and
set you free. Know that you are forgiven and be at peace. May God
strengthen you in all goodness,
and keep you in life eternal.
Amen.
COLLECT FOR MOTHERING SUNDAY
God of
compassion, whose Son Jesus Christ, the child of Mary, shared the
life of a home in Nazareth,
and on the cross drew the whole human
family to himself:
Strengthen us in our daily living that in joy
and in sorrow
we may know the power of your presence to bind
together and to heal; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

THE PEACE
OFFERTORY HYMN:
The Lord is here. His Spirit is with us.
Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.
Let
us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It
is right to give our thanks and praise.
Father,
almighty and everliving God,
……..for ever praising you and
saying:
Holy,
holy, holy Lord, God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full
of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed
is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest!
Blessed are you, Father,………
Therefore,
Father, with this bread and this cup
we do as Christ your Son
commanded:
we
remember his passion and death,
we celebrate his resurrection and
ascension,
and we look for the coming of his kingdom.
Accept through him, ……….all honour and glory are yours, Almighty Father, for ever and ever. Amen.
LORD’S PRAYER
The
bread which we break is a sharing in the body of Christ. We
being many are one body,
for we all share in the one bread.
THE COMMUNION
POST COMMUNION PRAYER
Almighty God,
we thank you for feeding us with the spiritual food of the body and
blood of your Son Jesus Christ. Through him we offer you our souls
and bodies to be a living sacrifice.
Send us out in the power of
your Spirit
to live and work to your praise and glory. Amen.
BLESSING
